From The Inside (1978)

"From The Inside" is perhaps one of Alice's most intersting records. It was written during Alice's stay in a mental institution, to recover from his alcholism. The hit ballad "How You Gonna See Me Now" is based on an actual letter Alice wrote to his wife Sheryl. The characters on this album were loosely based on actual people Alice met during his stay at the hospital. "From The Inside" is considered by many fans to be Alice's greatest solo album. If not for Alice's recent disappointments in sales, "From The Inside" could have easily been as big as Welcome To My Nightmare. Marvel Comics also issued a comic based on this album.
